IT Officer (holding the functional title of Analyst Programmer) in the School of Public Health (Ref.: 530758) (to commence as soon as possible on a one-year temporary basis or a two-year fixed-term basis, with the possibility of renewal subject to funding availability and satisfactory performance)
Applicants should possess a Bachelor's degree or above in information technology, computer science, informatics or a related discipline, with at least 3 years' work experience in application development. They should have (i) knowledge of HTML5, CSS, JavaScript, PHP, jQuery, JSON, XML, SQL and MySQL; (ii) experience in version control, web-based development and CMS systems (e.g. Joomla); (iii) at least 2 years’ hands-on work experience in supporting Linux hosting platform, including apache and tomcat; (iv) an excellent command of written and spoken English and Chinese (including Putonghua); and (v) good communication, analytical and problem-solving skills. Experience in front-end/UI technologies, such as AngularJS, ReactJS and React Native, is highly preferred.
The appointee will assist in the implementation, management and maintenance of information systems for research projects related to COVID-19 and influenza. He/She will manage research data, design templates for data visualization, liaise with IT systems vendors, provide on-site technical support for the maintenance of equipment and servers, and perform other duties as assigned. Work outside normal office hours may be required occasionally.
A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, in addition to annual leave and medical benefit. The appointment on fixed terms will attract a contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totalling up to 10% of basic salary.
