IT Officer (holding functional title of Assistant IT Manager) in the Joint University Programmes Admissions System (JUPAS) Office (Ref.: 531959)
Joint University Programmes Admissions System (JUPAS) is a scheme and the main route of application designed to assist local students with HKDSE Examination results to apply for admission to the programmes offered by the 9 JUPAS participating-institutions and the SSSDP institutions.
We are looking for a highly dynamic, multi-task, proactive and energetic candidate who excels in application development, execution and quality assurance.
The Role
The appointee is expected to:
- Develop the integration between AI solutions and existing JUPAS Digital Channels;
- Champion of the UX/UI development of JUPAS Digital Channels (including Online Application System, website, chatbot, and other platforms);
- Liaise with vendors and internal stakeholders to complete the AI-related and other digitalization projects;
- Support and ensure the quality of digitalization projects, and
- Provide technical and programming support to the Office, including system integration, and user acceptance testing.
Qualifications and Qualities
- Possess a good University degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Science, or other IT-related disciplines;
- At least 3 years of working experience in similar roles (applicants with less experience may be considered for the IT Technician position);
- Experience in implementing AI project integration (e.g. AI Chatbot);
- Proficiency in UX/UI development and web-based application development, including Java, JavaScript, HTML and CSS;
- Strong knowledge of UX principles;
- A solid understanding of database systems, including DB2 and MySQL, as well as proficiency in Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment (CICD), is considered advantageous;
- Proven ability to manage projects from inception to completion, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to quality standards;
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, project management and problem-solving skills;
- Demonstrated team management skill, with the ability to motivate and guide team members effectively;
- A strong sense of responsibility, self-motivation, and the ability to work independently as well as in a team;
- A fast learner with a passion for new technologies, and
- Strong command of spoken and written English and Chinese.
What We Offer
The appointment will be made on temporary term full-time contract for 1 year, to commence as soon as possible with the renewal contract subject to satisfactory performance and staffing needs.
