Part-time Student Research Assistant (several posts) in the Department of Sociology (Ref.:537618) (to commence in late December 2026 or January 2027 and end on 29 June 2027)
Applicants should be current HKU undergraduate students in psychology, early childhood education, or other related social science and education disciplines, preferably in their third or final year of study. They must be highly proficient in written and spoken Chinese (with native-level proficiency in Cantonese required) and possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Applicants should have a strong sense of responsibility, be detailed-minded, dedicated, patient, punctual and be able to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment. Experience in working with preschool children and/or exposure to child or psychological assessments would be an advantage.
The appointees will be responsible for conducting child assessments under the supervision of the research team and educational psychologists for a large-scale project on early childhood development in Hong Kong. The posts would provide an excellent opportunity for those interested in educational psychology and child assessments, and who would like to gain experience working with children in school-based settings and participate in a large-scale child development research project. Applicants considering further academic/professional pursuits in educational psychology or related fields are particularly welcome. Enquiries about the posts should be sent to the Project Team at hkchild@hku.hk.
The applicants should be able to commit to working one to two full weekdays per week during the employment period. The estimated working hours will be approximately 8 - 15 hours per week, and the hourly pay rates will follow the guidelines of the University.
Applicants will be required to participate in and successfully pass a mandatory 3-day training program before employment.
The University only accepts online applications for the above posts. Applicants should apply online and upload an up-to-date C.V. Review of applications will start as soon as possible and continue until 20 November, 2026, or until the posts are filled, whichever is earlier.
