Project Officer for AI-assisted Research Publicity (at the Rank of Senior Research Assistant) in the Department of Chemistry (Ref.:537579) (to commence as soon as possible for one year, with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance)
Applicants should possess a B.Sc. degree in Chemistry with at least 3 years of relevant work experience, or an M.Sc. degree in Chemistry with at least 1 year of relevant work experience. They should have a solid scientific background and sufficient knowledge to understand and communicate chemistry-related research and teaching materials effectively. They should have a good command of written and spoken English and Chinese, strong communication and organizational skills, and the ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
Applicants should be proficient in using generative AI tools and AI-assisted workflows, including coding agents such as OpenAI Codex or equivalent tools, to improve presentations, troubleshoot webpages, produce videos and develop publicity materials. Experience in PowerPoint design, video editing, website maintenance and scientific communication is required. They should also be able to verify AI-generated content and properly handle scientific accuracy, confidentiality, copyright and data-protection issues.
The appointee will use AI and other digital tools to support the research, teaching and publicity activities for the group of Prof. Chi-Ming Che. Duties include editing and improving research and teaching PowerPoint presentations; maintaining and troubleshooting webpages; producing promotional and explanatory videos; and preparing bilingual publicity materials for research achievements, conferences, seminars, visits and other academic activities.
Applicants with an outstanding record and relevant experience in AI-assisted database and e-notebook management would be an advantage and may be considered for appointment at a higher rank. The appointee may also be required to perform other duties as assigned.
