Technical Manager in the Department of Ophthalmology, School of Clinical Medicine (Ref.: 537558) (to commence as soon as possible, on a two-year fixed-term basis or one-year temporary basis, with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance)
Applicants should possess a Bachelor's degree in Optometry and be a registered Optometrist (Part I) with The Optometrists Board of Hong Kong SAR under the Supplementary Medical Professions Ordinance, with minimum 10 years’ relevant work experience. Those with relevant experience in research, large-scale community projects, mentoring and managerial responsibilities would have advantages. They should have strong sense of responsibility, good interpersonal, organizational and communication skills, with the ability to multi-task and work independently as well as collaboratively as a team.
The appointee will be involved in clinical services, research and large-scale community-based screening projects in various districts and in hospitals/clinics. He/She will manage the day-to-day operations of projects from administration to manpower management; perform ophthalmic examinations and investigations; assist with the procurement and daily maintenance of ophthalmic equipment and devices; prepare reports through data collection and analysis; and supervise junior professionals. Occasional overtime work may be required.
A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, in addition to annual leave and medical benefits. The appointment on fixed-term will attract a contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme totalling up to 10% of basic salary.
