Applications are invited for appointment as Lecturer in the Division of Community Medicine and Public Health Practice, School of Public Health (Ref.: 537454), to commence as soon as possible, on a two-year fixed term basis, with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance and funding availability.
Applicants should possess an EdD or PhD or Master’s degree in public/global health or a related discipline such as exercise science; or MBBS with a specialist qualification in Public Health Medicine or equivalent. They should have at least 5 years’ teaching experience. They should be highly conversant with contemporary issues in public health, competent in case-based and problem-based teaching pedagogy, and able to work in an interdisciplinary and multicultural environment. High proficiency in English, enthusiasm in teaching, and good mentoring skills are essential. They should demonstrate a strong commitment to and evidence of excellence in teaching at undergraduate and/or postgraduate level. A portfolio of programme administration, curriculum design and delivery, production of teaching materials, supervision of teaching practice, quality assurance, and/or student supervision is highly preferred.
The appointee is expected to teach courses at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels in nursing leadership, public health, global health and development, evidence-based practice research, and business skills. The appointee will contribute to the School’s knowledge exchange and community engagement initiatives, and perform other duties as assigned.
A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, in addition to annual leave and medical benefits. At current rates, salaries tax does not exceed 15% of gross income. The appointment will attract a contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totalling up to 15% of basic salary.
