Research Assistant I/II in the Division of Nephrology, Department of Medicine, School of Clinical Medicine (Ref.:537440)
Our team focuses on studying the genotype-phenotype correlation in various monogenic kidney diseases including Autosomal Dominant Polycystic Kidney Disease and Alport Syndrome. We investigate the clinical utility of genetic testing in nephrology (including diagnosis, prognosis, precision therapy and transplant optimization). We also investigate the applicability of polygenic risk score in ethnically Chinese patients with kidney disease. We now invite applications for the captioned post,
Duties and Responsibilities
The appointee will work with a multidisciplinary team including health care professionals and statisticians. Scope of duties include (but not limited to):
- Recruitment of and liaison with patients regarding research projects and clinical trials
- Administration of questionnaires
- Data collection, entry, organization and analysis
- Preparation of reports, presentation files and manuscripts
- Training opportunities relating to medical statistics, genetic testing and interpretation, techniques etc. will be provided where necessary.
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
- A bachelor’s degree in Health Sciences, Medical Statistics or a related discipline
- A good command of English and Chinese (Candidates who are proficient in Cantonese would be given priority in consideration)
- A strong sense of responsibility, good interpersonal, organisational and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively as a team
- Prior experience in health sciences research would be strongly preferred
- Applicants with lower qualifications may be considered for the rank of Research Assistant II

The appointment will commence as soon as possible on a 1-year temporary basis, with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance and funding availability.
