Part-time Research Assistant I / Senior Research Assistant in the Centre for Applied English Studies (CAES)
(to commence as soon as possible, on a six-month temporary basis, with the possibility of renewal subject to funding availability and satisfactory performance)
We are seeking a dedicated Part-time Research Assistant I / Senior Research Assistant to join the dynamic team at the Communication-intensive Courses (CiC) at The University of Hong Kong. In this role, the appointee will assist the investigators in managing and processing research data, reviewing relevant literature, analyzing and reporting findings, and supporting the project leader in various research activities related to the development of Communication-intensive Courses. He/She is expected to work 20-25 hours per week.
Applicants should have: (i) a Master’s degree or higher in Education, Communication, Psychology, Social Sciences, or a related discipline; (ii) at least 2 years’ relevant post-qualification work experience, preferably in the higher education sector; (iii) an excellent command of written and spoken English, with proficiency in Cantonese and Mandarin preferred; (iv) experience in analysing both quantitative and qualitative data, with strong expertise in qualitative research methodologies; (v) a proactive, outgoing, and self-motivated approach, with strong organisational skills; (vi) the ability to work both independently and collaboratively as an effective team player; and (vii) familiarity with data analysis software, such as MAXQDA and NVivo, as well as MS Office applications, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
