Campus Residence and Hospitality Development Manager (at the rank of Administrative Assistant II/Executive Officer) in the Faculty of Business and Economics (Ref.: 537362) (to commence as soon as possible, on a two-year fixed-term basis, with contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totalling up to 10% of basic salary, with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance)

Pokfield Campus is one of The University of Hong Kong's most significant strategic developments. Located at the junction of Pokfulam Road and Pokfield Road, the campus is being developed as a world-class environment that integrates learning, living, working, innovation and community engagement. Starting from 2027, the campus will open in phases, bringing together an innovative academic complex, teaching and learning facilities, a conference centre, sports and wellness amenities, staff and visitor accommodation, as well as dining and hospitality facilities. Key responsibilities
 
The appointee will play a critical leadership role in the strategic and operational development of the residential, hospitality, catering and related operator services at Pokfield Campus. This position is responsible for developing sustainable business and financial models, leading market engagement activities, conducting procurement and operator selection exercises, and supporting the implementation of long-term operating strategies, and other duties as assigned to support campus development, opening readiness and ongoing operations. 
 
This role requires a combination of commercial acumen, hospitality and catering industry expertise, business development capabilities, financial modelling skills, stakeholder management, and vendor negotiation experience. The appointee will work closely with University stakeholders and external operators to enhance service quality, user experience, facility utilization and long-term operational and financial sustainability. 
 
Qualifications
 
Academic qualification
 
• bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Hospitality Management, Real Estate, Finance, Marketing, Project Management or related disciplines;
 
• master's degree (MBA or relevant postgraduate qualification) is preferred;
 
Experience
 
• minimum 8 years for Executive Officer and 10 years for Administrative Assistant II of relevant experience in one or more of the following:
 
o Hospitality management
 
o Hotel or guest house operations
 
o Business development
 
o Property or facility commercialization
 
o Stakeholder and vendor management
 
• good command of written and spoken English and Chinese, including Cantonese and Putonghua;
 
Core Competencies
 
• Strategic Thinking: ability to translate institutional objectives into commercially viable solutions;
 
• Commercial Acumen: strong understanding of revenue generation, operating models, pricing strategies, and contract structures;
 
• Financial Analysis: capability to construct and evaluate financial and operational business models;
 
• Negotiation Skills: demonstrated ability to negotiate complex commercial arrangements and achieve mutually beneficial outcomes;
 
• Industry Network: existing connections within the hospitality, catering, and property management sectors are highly desirable; and
 
• Project Management: ability to manage multiple work streams under tight deadlines while maintaining quality and stakeholder
alignment.
 
A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, in addition to annual leave and medical benefits.
