Applications are invited for appointment as Tenure-Track Assistant Professor (several posts) in the Department of Orthopaedics and Traumatology, School of Clinical Medicine (Ref.: 537045), to commence as soon as possible, on a three-year fixed term basis, with the possibility of renewal and consideration for tenure before the expiry of a second three-year fixed-term contract, subject to satisfactory performance.

Applicants should possess: (i) a Ph.D. degree in Medicine, Surgery, Biomedical Engineering, Health Science, or a related discipline; (ii) a strong track record of high-quality research demonstrated by publication record and external grants; (iii) evidence of international recognition; (iv) established cross-disciplinary collaborative ties both locally and internationally; and (iv) an outstanding record of teaching, mentoring and supervising research postgraduate students.

The appointees are expected to participate in the planning and delivery of undergraduate and postgraduate programmes, supervise research staff and research postgraduate students, conduct high-impact scholarly research in areas such as musculoskeletal science, stem cells and regenerative medicine, and contribute to service / administration at the Department and Faculty levels.

The ideal candidates should be innovative and proactive, possess excellent problem-solving skill, logical thinking and strong data sensitivity.  Additionally, they will play a key role in advancing the department’s translational research and fostering strategic partnerships.

A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, in addition to annual leave and medical benefits.  At current rates, salaries tax does not exceed 15% of gross income.  The appointment will attract a contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totalling up to 15% of basic salary.  Housing benefits will also be provided as applicable.
