Senior Technical Officer in Imaging and Flow Cytometry Core of the Centre for PanorOmic Sciences (CPOS) (Ref.: 536907) (to commence as soon as possible, on a two-year fixed-term basis with contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totalling up to 10% of basic salary, with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance)

Centre for PanorOmic Sciences (CPOS) is an academic research-support centre embracing multi-omics and big data biomedical research under the LKS Faculty of Medicine. The Role

  • Oversee the daily operation of core facility to ensure smooth operation and high-quality service
  • Provide technical consultation and guidance on experimental design and protocol optimization to research teams
  • Supervise and train junior staff in advanced techniques and best practices to support the professional growth of the team
  • Organize technical seminars, workshops, and knowledge-sharing events
  • Assistant core manager in new equipment acquisition and core development

Qualifications and Qualities

  • M.Phil. degree in Biomedical Sciences or a related discipline
  • 8 years of laboratory experience, including at least 2 years of hands-on experience in the operation and maintenance of imaging equipment within a core facility
  • Experience in establishing new core facilities/equipment, as well as demonstrated team leadership experience, is required
  • Strong analytical mindset with excellent attention to detail and a commitment to continuous technical skill development
  • Self-motivated, responsible, and collaborative, with a strong inclination toward teamwork
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
