Research Assistant I or II / Senior Research Assistant in the Department of Psychology (Ref.: 536643)

Applications are invited for the position of Research Assistant I or II / Senior Research Assistant in the Department of Psychology, for the Child and School Psychology Laboratory, to commence on August 1, 2026, until September 30, 2027, with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance and funding availability.

 

The Role

The appointee will provide independent support to research projects and related academic activities. Key responsibilities include:

  • Conducting literature reviews and synthesizing research findings
  • Developing research materials, resources, and programme content
  • Managing research data, performing statistical analysis, and preparing reports
  • Monitoring project progress and ensuring timelines are met
  • Supervising junior research staff (for Senior Research Assistant level) and coordinating day-to-day project operations
  • Assisting in the preparation of manuscripts, presentations, and other research outputs
  • Supporting other research-related activities as needed

 

Requirements

Applicants should possess:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Psychology, Social Sciences, Education, or a related discipline.
  • For Senior Research Assistant: at least 3 years of relevant post-qualification experience, or a Master’s degree with at least 1 year of experience, or a Ph.D. degree.
  • Demonstrable ability to independently manage research tasks and supervise junior staff (for Senior level).
  • Excellent command of written and spoken English and Chinese.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Familiarity with SPSS or other statistical analysis software is preferred.
  • For Research Assistant I/II: relevant experience or skills in research support activities.
  • For Research Assistant I/II: good knowledge of Microsoft Excel, with English word processing speed of at least 50 w.p.m. and Chinese at least 30 w.p.m. are preferred.
