Senior Technical Manager (holding the functional title of Senior Nursing Officer) in the Division of Community Medicine and Public Health Practice, School of Public Health (Ref.: 536296) (to commence as soon as possible on a two-year fixed-term basis, with the possibility of renewal subject to funding availability and satisfactory performance).
Applicants should possess a nursing qualification registrable with the Nursing Council of Hong Kong and hold a valid practising certificate issued by the Nursing Council of Hong Kong. They should preferably have an advanced qualification in public health, infection control, or a related discipline, and have at least 10-12 years of post-qualification experience. They should have excellent command of written and spoken English and Chinese, be organized, responsible, detail-minded, self-motivated, and able to work independently as well as in a multidisciplinary team. A demonstrated keen research interest in public health and experience in managing clinical research would be an advantage.
The appointee will work with the local and international principal investigators to manage a team of research staff in conducting multiple community-based longitudinal local lung cancer studies for adults in Hong Kong. He/She will oversee all aspects of the study; coordinate, train and motivate team members for participants’ recruitment in the community; liaise with funding bodies, community partners, and other project stakeholders; conduct regular participant follow-up activities including vaccination, in-person/telephone interviews, blood/specimen collection, health education; budget monitoring, report writing and perform any other administrative tasks or special projects as assigned. He/She will also ensure good research practice in compliance with standardized operating procedures (SOPs), GCP and other regulatory requirements; liaise with ethics, regulatory and external bodies; and assist in data monitoring and quality assurance.
