Research Assistant II (holding the functional title of Project Officer) in the Faculty of Law (Ref.: ) (to commence as soon as possible, on a one-year temporary basis, with the possibility of renewal subject to funding availability and satisfactory performance)

 

Applicants should hold a Bachelor’s degree or above in Law, with a solid understanding of Hong Kong law. They should be self‑motivated, well‑organised, and a strong team player, with an excellent command of written and spoken English and Chinese (Cantonese). Familiarity with large language models and natural language processing technologies would be an advantage.

 

The appointee will join an interdisciplinary team from the Faculty of Law and the School of Computing and Data Science on a project that integrates legal research, community engagement, and AI development to make the Community Legal Information Centre (CLIC) more accessible for the general public.

 

Responsibilities will include reviewing and conducting research on existing and new legal topics for publication on CLIC; collaborating with NGOs to carry out user research and co‑organise community events that promote public access to legal information; annotating, cleaning, and processing data for use in AI applications; and supervising Student Research Assistants.
