Research Assistant II in the Department of Surgery (to commence as soon as possible for one to two year(s), with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance)
Applicants should hold a Hong Kong Associate Degree (AD), Higher Diploma (HD), or a Bachelor’s degree. A good command of Chinese (Cantonese, with preference for Mandarin, both spoken and written) and English (both spoken and written) is required. Proficiency in basic office software, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, is essential, and familiarity with statistical analysis tools such as IBM SPSS will be an advantage. Applicants should also possess a strong customer service attitude, with a patient-focused and professional approach. Candidates with prior clinical experience in a public hospital setting are preferred.
The appointee will support clinical research activities in the field of urology. Key responsibilities include assisting physicians with patient interviews and the collection of clinical information, retrieving and reviewing medical records, performing data entry and maintaining research databases, and supporting clinical trial reporting and coordination. Additional duties may be assigned by the supervisor as needed.
The role may involve direct contact with patients and handling clinical specimens. As part of a multidisciplinary research team, the appointee will contribute actively to ongoing research projects.
A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, in addition to annual leave and medical benefits. The appointments on two-year fixed-term basis will attract a contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totalling up to 10% of basic salary.
