Senior Technical Assistant/Laboratory Assistant in the Central Research Laboratories of the Faculty of Dentistry (Ref.: 536211)
We are looking for a Senior Technical Assistant/Laboratory Assistant in the Central Research Laboratories of the Faculty of Dentistry.
The Role
The appointee will support the operations and administration of the Laboratories. Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Assist Technical Officers in the maintenance and daily operation of laboratory instruments;
- Handle procurement of laboratory equipment, consumables and materials;
- Provide administrative support for research activities;
- Manage laboratory stock and inventory records; and
- Perform other duties as assigned by supervisors.
Qualifications and Qualities
- A Bachelor’s degree; OR 5 passes in HKCEE including English, Chinese and Mathematics, or min. Level 2 in 5 subjects in HKDSEE including English Language, Chinese Language and Mathematics;
- Self-motivated, responsible and collaborative;
- Good interpersonal skills and strong team spirit;
- Good command of spoken and written English and Chinese (including Putonghua); and
- Experience in procurement and administrative work is preferred.
Those with less experience and/or lower qualifications may be appointed as Laboratory Assistant.
What We Offer
The appointment will be made on fixed-term full-time contract for 2 years, to commence as soon as possible with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance and funding availability. A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, together with contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme at 10% of basic salary. Other benefits include annual leave and medical benefits.
