Technical Manager I/II (several posts) in the Project Division of the Estates Office (Ref.: 535086)
We are looking for Technical Managers I/II in (i) Architecture/Building Services and Structural/Civil Engineering; and (ii) Site Safety to join the Estates Office.
The Role
The appointees will:
(i) Participate in a range of projects including new building and renovation works. The project scope may cover various aspects including academic, teaching and learning, research, and residential, ranging from renovation to capital development scale. They will be all-rounded professionals who possess hands-on experience in delivery of quality projects and preferably with a flair for design. They will be responsible for various duties from inception to post-completion, including conducting feasibility studies and formulating project requirements; exercising budget control and programme planning; leading the external consultants on design quality and project implementation; monitoring site construction and resolving technical issues; and coordinating with various parties including consultants, government authorities, internal user groups, facilities management and in-house bodies in relation to project execution.
(ii) Participate in campus expansion projects relating to quality and safety management. They will be responsible for the day-to-day monitoring and supervision of site works and interface works, quality control, carrying out site inspections, overseeing on-site and off-site testing as directed, and monitoring site housekeeping and safety. They will liaise with project team, maintenance and operations team, Safety Office, external consultants and government authorities in relation to project quality and safety.
The appointees may be required to work shifts, overtime and on public holidays, subject to prior arrangement.

Qualifications and Qualities
Applicants should possess:
- A Bachelor’s degree or above in Architecture, Engineering in Mechanical/Electrical/ Building Services/Structural/Civil or equivalent disciplines;
- Corporate membership of HKIA/HKIE (or equivalent organization) and Registered Professional Engineer qualification (Mechanical/Electrical/Building Services/Structural or Civil with relevant experience);
- At least 8 years’ relevant experience working in development consultancy or large-scale property developer at management level in project planning, management and site supervision;
- Solid site supervision with at least 5 years’ experience in large-scale, institutional, DfMA or MiC projects would be an advantage for post (ii);
- Strong interpersonal, communication and organization skills, a strong sense of responsibility, and the ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines;
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including BIM; and
- A valid Construction Industry Safety Training Certificate (Green Card) issued in accordance with Chapter 59 of the Factories and Industrial Undertakings Ordinance (i.e. by attending the relevant safety training courses which are recognized by the Commissioner for Labour) or equivalent.
Those with less experience or lower qualifications may be considered for appointment as Technical Manager II.

The appointments will be made on fixed-term full-time contract for 2 years, to commence as soon as possible with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance.
