Applications are invited for appointments as Lecturer in the School of Computing and Data Science (Ref.: 535023), to commence as soon as possible on a two-year fixed-term basis, with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance.
The School of Computing and Data Science (CDS) strives to advance education and research across the fields of computing and data science, artificial intelligence, statistical decision sciences, fintech, and actuarial science. It aims to take an integrated approach to reform these academic disciplines and foster multidisciplinary research collaboration within the University and beyond. The Role
- Design and deliver undergraduate and postgraduate courses, with particular interest in the following areas:
- AI and Data Science;
- Law and Ethics in AI and Data Science;
- Software Engineering;
- Systems & Networks;
- Extended Reality (XR), AR/VR, and Immersive Technologies
- Security / Digital forensics;
- Algorithms.
- Supervise final year projects and capstone projects, provide mentorship and academic guidance to students;
- Collaborate with colleagues to develop or enhance the curriculum, and promote interdisciplinary learning;
- Participate in teaching and learning activities organized by the School and the University; and
- Engage in knowledge exchange activities, connecting industry and public.
Requirements
- Ph.D. in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent professional qualifications;
- Demonstrated excellence in teaching computer science-related subjects;
- Effective communication skills and a drive for academic growth and innovation; and
- Ability to bridge theory and practice by engaging with industry practitioners and academic peers.

A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, in addition to annual leave and medical benefits. The appointment will attract a contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totalling up to 15% of basic salary.
