The Development & Alumni Affairs Office is establishing a new AI & Data Lab to support innovation in advancement intelligence. We are seeking a technically strong and motivated AI Engineer to implement our AI strategy roadmap and deliver solutions that enhance fundraising and alumni engagement. Candidates who bring creativity, technical expertise, and a passion for AI from different industries are welcomed to apply.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and deploy LLM‑embedded applications to automate workflows and improve office operations.
  • Implement AI platforms, systems, and services that support agentic AI initiatives within DAAO.
  • Apply AI governance practices as directed, ensuring responsible and secure adoption of AI technologies.
  • Translate strategic priorities into actionable technical solutions in collaboration with senior leadership.
  • Build and maintain retrieval‑augmented generation (RAG) pipelines and other advanced AI frameworks.
  • Contribute to agile development practices and foster innovation within the Lab.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or above in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, Information Systems, or related fields with at least 2 years’ relevant experience.
  • Strong background in software development with hands‑on experience in building scalable applications.
  • Proficiency in API design, integration, and management.
  • Solid knowledge of networking, security protocols, and system architecture.
  • Experience with cloud platforms, backend frameworks, and workflow automation.
  • Familiarity with RAG, vector databases, and modern AI toolchains.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with agentic AI and generative AI applications.
  • Experience in agile development environments and iterative prototyping.
  • Real‑world project experience (professional or personal) in AI/ML application developments.
  • Enthusiasm for generative AI, with a strong sense of innovation and experimentation.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate across technical and non‑technical teams.

 

What We Offer

The appointment will be made on a fixed-term full-time contract for 2 years, to commence as soon as possible with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance. A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, together with contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme at 10% of basic salary. Other benefits include annual leave and medical benefits.
