Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Research Assistant (Data Manager) to join our team. This position focuses on managing and analyzing clinical trial data for a research project using advanced data science and machine learning approaches.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Manage data cleaning, validation, and integrity checks across all project datasets.
  • Assist in developing digital tools and monitor interaction logs to identify safety alerts, engagement trends, and adherence patterns.
  • Generate participant-level and group-level trend reports for use in progress reviews and feedback loops.
  • Support the Postdoctoral Fellow in conducting interim and final analyses.
  • Prepare dashboard-based visualizations for reporting to the Project Manager and funding body.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of data structures, codebooks, and analytic protocols to ensure reproducibility and data audit readiness.
  • Assist in data extraction and preparation for external audits, DSMB reviews, and scientific publications.
  • Collaborate with the IT Manager to ensure secure, ethical data transfer between digital platforms and research databases.
  • Support ongoing process evaluations, helping quantify participant engagement, retention, and intervention fidelity.
  • Provide technical support for data-driven participant feedback reports and progress summaries during assessment activities.

Requirement

  • Bachelor's degree in Health Sciences, Data Science, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field from a recognized institution.
  • ≥3 years' experience with clinical/community trial databases; proficiency in R, Python, or SAS required.
  • Familiarity with machine learning libraries and frameworks (such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, or Scikit-learn) is an advantage.
  • Experience in medical image analysis or related fields is desirable.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Good coordination, organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • Highly motivated with a strong sense of responsibility and the ability to work independently and in a team.
  • Good time management skills and ability to deliver projects on time.
  • Knowledge in research equipment setup or experience with clinical data management systems would be an added advantage.

The appointment will commence as soon as possible on a 1-year temporary basis, with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance and funding availability.
