Clerk I (holding the functional title of Communications Executive (Event)) (several posts) in the School of Biomedical Sciences (Ref.: 534839) (to commence as soon as possible for 1 year, with the possibility of renewal subject to funding availability and satisfactory performance).
Applicants should possess a good bachelor’s degree, with at least 3-4 years of relevant experience (full- or part-time) in event management, communications, public relations, marketing, or a related field. They should have an excellent command of written and spoken Chinese (including Putonghua) and English; strong organisational, communication, and multitasking skills; a high level of computer literacy; and the ability to work independently or in a team under pressure with diverse stakeholders. A can-do attitude, prioritisation skills, and a keen learning mindset are essential. Experience in managing social media platforms is an advantage.
The appointee will support the School’s Research, Communications and Public Relations Team on a part-time basis in planning and executing key communications activities. Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):
- Assisting in planning and implementing high-standard events such as summits, ceremonies, conferences, seminars, workshops, and campaigns;
- Providing support for event management, including programme development, budgeting, scheduling, logistics, vendor coordination, and inquiry handling;
- Helping source vendors/suppliers and overseeing on-site event operations and troubleshooting;
- Creating communication materials (e.g., eDMs, invitations, social media posts, press releases) for campaigns;
- Supporting post-event evaluations and analysis to track goals and KPIs;
- Undertaking other ad-hoc duties as assigned by the School Office.
