Assistant Research Officer in the Department of Family Medicine and Primary Care (Ref.: 534796) (to commence as soon as possible for one year, with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance)

 

Applications are invited for appointment as Assistant Research Officer in the Department of Family Medicine and Primary Care (Ref.: 534796), to commence as soon as possible for one year, with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance.   

Applicants should possess a Ph.D. degree in the field of pharmacoepidemiology and epidemiological studies. They must be proficient in data analysis using statistical or computer modelling software, such as Stata or R. They should have an excellent command of written and spoken English, and a demonstrated record of publishing academic research papers.  They should be organized, self-motivated, and have the ability to multitask and work independently as well as in a team. A pharmacy degree, particularly registered pharmacist status in Hong Kong, combined with experience in managing and developing large-scale research projects, is preferred. Proficiency in statistics and big data analysis is also highly desirable.

The appointee will participate in various pharmacoepidemiology and epidemiological studies to assess the effectiveness and cost-effectiveness of interventions, medication, and health services. They are expected to assist the core project team in planning and coordinating research projects, evaluate territory-wide programs, oversee data collection and analysis, prepare reports and presentations, supervise research assistants, and perform other relevant tasks as assigned. There will be many opportunities to collaborate with research and health professionals to develop a research career in health and health services.
