Research Assistant I/II in Immunoassay Development (Ref.:  534702)

We now invite application for the captioned posts which focus on immunoassay development, in the Department of Medicine, School of Clinical Medicine and the State Key Laboratory of Pharmaceutical Biotechnology,

 

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Develop and validate immunoassays, including antibody screening, pairing optimization, antibody conjugation, and evaluation of sensitivity and specificity
  • Perform molecular biology experiments, such as probe design, PCR, qPCR, protein expression and purification independently
  • Assist in experimental design, data collection and analysis, and preparation of experimental records and technical reports
  • Support daily laboratory operations, including reagent inventory management and standardization of experimental protocols
  • A 5.5-day work week is required

Requirements

  • A Master's degree or above in Molecular Biology, Immunology, Biochemistry, Biotechnology, or a related field
  • Solid theoretical foundation in molecular biology, with proficiency in common molecular cloning and protein detection techniques
  • Strong hands-on laboratory skills and the ability to independently design and execute experiments
  • Detail-oriented, patient, and responsible, with good record-keeping habits
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced, project-driven R&D environment
  • Prior experience in immunoassay development is preferred

What We Offer

The appointment will commence as soon as possible on a 1-year temporary basis or 2-year fixed-term basis, with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance and funding availability.

A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered. The appointment on fixed terms will attract a contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme at 10% of basic salary. Other benefits include annual leave, medical benefits and free access to on-campus gyms and libraries.
