Applications are invited for appointment as full-time Counsellor in the Counselling and Person Enrichment Section of the Centre of Development and Resources for Students (CEDARS) (Ref.: 534683) (to commence as soon as possible, on a one-year temporary basis, with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance and availability of funding).

Applicants should possess a Master’s degree in Counselling, Counselling Psychology, Social Work or a related discipline in the practice of psychological or mental health services with at least 3 years’ relevant post-degree experience; or a good Bachelor’s degree in Social Work with at least 5 years’ relevant post-degree experience. Applicants should be eligible for membership of the relevant professional bodies. Fluency in English, Cantonese and Putonghua is a must. Possession of Mental Health First Aid Trainer qualification is an advantage.

The appointee will conduct individual counselling or psychological assessment and intervention, manage crisis, develop and conduct mental health resources and activities for a diverse student population covering all Faculties in the University, and offer staff consultation and training in joint-care approach. The appointee will also actively participate in promoting mental health and psychosocial well-being through various means and work closely with our professional team at CEDARS composing of Clinical Psychologists, Counselling Psychologists, Social Workers, Marriage and Family Therapists and the administrative team, and other student support personnel at CEDARS and University staff to reach out to our students.
