Technical Officer in the Faculty of Education (Ref.: 534652)
We are looking for a Technical Officer to join the Faculty of Education.
The Role
The appointee will be responsible for providing IT and AV equipment support services to Faculty staff and students. He/She will also be responsible for the setup/maintenance and inventory management of IT and AV equipment and facilities within the Faculty, website maintenance, support for Faculty events, and other duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Qualities
Applicants should possess a recognized degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or a related discipline, and at least 3 years’ relevant work experience in IT support services. They should have strong knowledge of the computer hardware and software commonly used in a university setting across various platforms (e.g. Windows, MacOS, and Linux); and audio/visual (AV) systems and technology in classrooms. They should also have a good command of written and spoken English and Chinese; a strong sense of responsibility; and good interpersonal, communication, analytical and problem-solving skills. They should be self-motivated and keen on continuous professional development. Preference will be given to applicants with experience in event photography (e.g. capturing high-quality images for Faculty events, seminars, and activities) and proficiency in video editing software and techniques.
What We Offer
The appointment will be made on fixed-term full-time contract for 2 years, to commence as soon as possible with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance. A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, together with contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme totaling up to 10% of basic salary.
