Senior Research Assistant in the Department of Microbiology, School of Clinical Medicine (Ref.: 534546) (to commence as soon as possible for up to three years, with the possibility of renewal subject to funding availability and satisfactory performance)

Applicants should possess a Master’s degree in Virology, Biological Sciences, Medical Sciences or a related discipline. They should have good laboratory techniques in microbiology (e.g., PCR and ELISA) and strong analytical skills. Prior experience in developing vaccine and diagnosis studies, handling human specimens and animal models (mice) would be an advantage. They should demonstrate an excellent command of written and spoken English and Chinese, as well as strong communication and interpersonal skills. They should be self‑motivated and diligent. Overseas study or work experience is highly preferred.

The appointee will join a research team focused on vaccine development for influenza and other emerging infectious diseases. Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to, handling and processing animal models or biospecimens, assisting with data analysis, and performing other duties as assigned.

A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, in addition to annual leave and medical benefits. Appointment on 2- or 3-year fixed terms will attract a contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totalling up to 10% of basic salary.
