Senior Executive Assistant (at the rank of Clerk I) in the Medical Ethics and Humanities Unit, School of Clinical Medicine (Ref.: 534541) (to commence as soon as possible, on a two-year fixed-term basis with contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totalling up to 10% of basic salary, with the possibility of renewal subject to funding availability and satisfactory performance)

The Medical Ethics and Humanities Unit (MEHU) was formed in 2012 to develop, integrate and coordinate teaching and learning in ethics and humanities for undergraduate medical students.

We invite a high-caliber administrator to join us in cultivating reflective, compassionate healthcare professionals of the future.

Applicants should have a university degree or equivalent with at least 3 years’ work experience in office administration, preferably in an educational setting. Preference will be given to those with excellent organizational and problem-solving skills, a good command of written and spoken English and Chinese (including Cantonese); the ability to work independently and as a team; and a willingness to learn. Experience using Moodle, Qualtrics, and in website management will be an asset. Working on Saturday morning(s) may be occasionally needed during teaching semesters.

The appointee will provide administrative support to the Medical Humanities (MH) and Medical Ethics and Law (MEL) teaching programmes. He/She will support the Unit’s core teaching team in a range of tasks, such as (i) scheduling and preparing materials for face-to-face and online teaching (e.g. lectures/workshops/tutorials); (ii) liaising with clinicians, honorary teachers, and community teaching partners; (iii) collating student assessment and feedback; (iv) responding to student inquiries; and (v) assisting in meetings. The appointee will also support event coordination and social media management and perform other administrative tasks as assigned by the Director of the Unit or his/her delegate. Shortlisted candidates will be invited to attend an interview and/or written test.

A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, in addition to annual leave and medical benefits.
