Senior Research Assistant / Research Assistant I in the Department of Anaesthesiology, School of Clinical Medicine (Ref.: 534422) (to commence as soon as possible for up to three years, with the possibility of renewal subject to funding availability and satisfactory performance.)   

Applicants should possess a Master degree or above in health informatics, epidemiology, or a related discipline. A PhD graduate with experience in pain medicine is preferred.

The main duties of this position are: 1) to apply machine learning algorithms and develop AI-based applications in pain medicine and related research, and 2) to suggest innovative interventions for pain management based on big data and smart technologies.

Data analysis skills are essential, particularly big data analytic skills. The candidate should have a good command of written and spoken English; strong communication, interpersonal, and analytical skills; a proactive problem-solving approach; a strong commitment to high-quality research; and the determination to persist and persevere through challenges.

The appointee will participate in research involving multiple large-scale datasets for data analysis. He /she will develop and execute research programs, assist in data processing, participate in clinical studies on interventions for patients with pain, and perform big data analyses. Opportunities to prepare academic manuscripts will be available.

A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, in addition to annual leave and medical benefits. Appointment on 2- or 3-year fixed terms will attract a contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totalling up to 10% of basic salary.
