IT Officer / IT Technician in the LKS Faculty of Medicine (Ref.: 534399) (to commence as soon as possible, on a two-year fixed-term basis with contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totalling up to 10% of basic salary, with the possibility of renewal subject to funding availability and satisfactory performance)

 

Applicants should have:

  • A Bachelor’s degree or above in Information Technology, Computer Science, Management Information Systems or a related discipline. PMP certification is an advantage;
  • At least 6 years’ relevant work experience, including demonstrated experience in IT project and service management;
  • A sound understanding of project management and business analysis best practices, including but not limited to as-is/to-be analysis, gap analysis, fishbone analysis, and agile approaches;
  • Hands-on data analytics experience with tools such as Microsoft Excel and SQL;
  • Familiarity with AI-powered tools (e.g. for documentation, planning, analytics, automation or coding assistance) and a strong interest in adopting and integrating AI into daily project management activities;
  • Proficiency in project management tools and software for planning, tracking, and reporting project progress;
  • Excellent project management, communication, leadership, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills;
  • The ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, multitask, and prioritize tasks; and
  • A good command of written and spoken English and Chinese.

 

Applicants with less experience may be considered for appointment as IT Technician.

 

Job Duties:

  • Budgeting, planning, executing, and overseeing various IT projects and initiatives;
  • Managing the budget and procurement process, including solutions sourcing and evaluation;
  • Serving as the primary point of contact for users, collaborating with both internal and external parties to gather requirements, providing updates, and communicating project status;
  • Soliciting, analyzing, and converting user requirements into system specifications;
  • Prioritizing user requirements according to business impact;
  • Coordinating quality assurance tests prior to user acceptance tests;
  • Overseeing the full project life cycle and managing projects’ on-boarding services;
  • Preparing project progress reports and ensuring that projects and services are delivered on-track, on-time, and on-budget with proper documentation;
  • Preparing project documents and artefacts, including but not limited to requirement specifications, communication strategies and plans, test plans, training materials, and user procedure manuals;
  • Contributing to project solution delivery by coordinating with internal and external stakeholders;
  • Providing support during incident and crisis situations;
  • Establishing and maintaining quality assurance processes to deliver high-quality IT solutions, including regular performance assessments and feedback mechanisms for continuous improvement;
  • Collaborating in evaluating the performance of contractors and external service providers;
  • Contributing to the design of procurement strategies; and
  • Assisting in the preparation of tender documents and proposals, conducting technical feasibility studies, and identifying potential supplier-related risks.
