Applications are invited for joint appointments as Tenure-Track Assistant Professor (several posts) in the School of Computing and Data Science (Ref.: 534341), to commence as soon as possible, on a three-year fixed-term basis, with the possibility of renewal and consideration for tenure before the expiry of a second three-year fixed-term contract.
The School of Computing and Data Science (CDS) strives to advance education and research across the fields of computing and data science, artificial intelligence, statistical decision sciences, fintech, and actuarial science. It aims to take an integrated approach to reform these academic disciplines and foster multidisciplinary research collaboration within the University and beyond. The Positions
We are seeking outstanding interdisciplinary scholars with a focus of Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, Computer Science, or any related field, with the capability in developing creative and innovative research and teaching programme that bridge artificial intelligence with other disciplines. The appointees will have their tenure home in the School of Computing and Data Science, and will be co-hosted by another Faculty/School/Department as appropriate, depending on their expertise and research profile.
Requirements
Applicants should possess a Ph.D. in a relevant field. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a solid track record in research with a cross-disciplinary approach across multiple subfields; a strong commitment to excellence in research and teaching; and proven academic leadership.
What We Offer
The successful candidate will be jointly appointed by the School of Computing and Data Science and another Faculty/School/Department. A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, in addition to annual leave, professional leave and medical benefits. At current rates, salaries tax does not exceed 15% of gross income. The appointment will attract a contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totaling up to 15% of basic salary. Housing benefits will be provided as applicable. A start-up package that is commensurate with the needs and experience of the appointee will be provided.
