Programme Officer (at the rank of Clerk I) in the School of Chinese (Ref.: 534297) (to commence as soon as possible, on a two-year fixed-term basis with contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totalling up to 10% of basic salary, with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance)

Established in 1927, the School of Chinese is one of HKU’s oldest and most prestigious academic units. We are seeking a dedicated administrative professional to support our initiatives in enhancing Chinese language education for local, non-local, and international students. Applicants should possess a Bachelor's degree or above with at least three years of relevant work experience in tertiary institutions. They should have a good command of written and spoken English and Chinese (Cantonese and Putonghua); strong interpersonal and communication skills; self-motivation and a strong sense of responsibility; ability to work effectively in a team; proficiency in multitasking and prioritizing workloads. They should also be proficient in computer applications (such as MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Chinese word processing). Preference will be given to candidates with experience in website management and publicity design.

The appointee will be responsible for providing comprehensive administrative support, including financial and human resources matters, Chinese language programme administration, report preparation, secretarial support to committees, and project management. The role may involve staff supervision and other duties as assigned. Shortlisted candidates will be required to attend a written test and an interview.

A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, in addition to annual leave and medical benefits.
