Applications are invited for appointment as Lecturer in Korean Studies in the School of Modern Languages and Cultures (Ref: 534249), to commence as soon as possible, on a three-year fixed-term basis, with the possibility of renewal subject to performance and availability of funding.
Applicants should possess a relevant Master’s degree with demonstrated expertise in teaching Korean to non-native speakers, along with at least 5 years of experience in teaching at the tertiary level. Preference will be given to applicants with the ability to teach research-based courses on topics such as teaching Korean as a foreign language, third language acquisition, and Korean language education integrated with EdTech and AI, as well as those with a proven track record of planning and executing co-curricular activities.
Applicants must be native or near-native speakers of Korean with excellent English proficiency. They should be familiar with current trends in Korean language teaching and assessment, including the use of AI and other cutting-edge technologies in language education. The appointee will be expected to teach a range of courses at different levels, develop new courses, and design assessment materials. While this is primarily an academic-related position focused on teaching and administration, research activities will be encouraged.
