Applications are invited for appointment as Lecturer in the Centre for Applied English Studies (Ref. 534179), to commence on September 1, 2026, on a two-year fixed-term basis.

Applicants should have a recognized Master’s degree in Applied Linguistics or a related discipline, and at least 5 years’ full-time experience in teaching EAP or EFL to post-secondary students.  The appointee will be able to demonstrate an ability to: (a) meet the needs of students through their teaching, as evidenced by positive student feedback; (b) teach across a range of courses; (c) produce, evaluate and revise innovative teaching and learning materials; (d) work on meeting self-identified professional development goals; and (e) actively contribute to teaching development projects.

The Centre is specifically looking for candidates with competence in the following areas: (i) academic literacy and communication teaching at the undergraduate level; (ii) embedding digital competence and multimodal communication in teaching practice and materials design; and (iii) supporting student learning beyond the classroom through blended-learning and digital resources. Those who can integrate AI tools critically into language and communication teaching, and demonstrating adaptive teaching practice are particularly welcome.

A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, together with contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefit scheme totally up to 15% of basic salary.  Other benefits include annual leave and professional leave, medical benefits, and free access to on-campus gyms and libraries.
