Technician in the HKU-Pasteur Research Pole, School of Public Health (Ref.: 534126), to commence as soon as possible, on a two-year fixed-term basis with contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totalling up to 10% of basic salary, with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance.

Applicants should possess a Bachelor’s degree or above in science, biology, medical science or related disciplines, with at least 5 years of laboratory experience in cell and virus culture in eggs and cells, virology, and molecular biology techniques. They must be familiar with cloning, influenza virus reverse-genetics system, virus purification techniques, various protein extraction and characterization techniques and in generating stable cell lines. Supervisory and laboratory management experiences are essential. They must have a good command of written and spoken English. They should also be a self-motivated and organized team player. Qualifications in laboratory safety are desired.

The appointee will work in the laboratory under the supervision of to study immunity to influenza and other respiratory viruses. He/She will manage and maintain the operations of the laboratory, conduct experiments, assist in training new members, and perform other duties as assigned.
