Applications are invited for appointment as Senior Manager for Admissions (at the rank of Administrative Assistant I) in the LKS Faculty of Medicine (Ref.: 534107) (to commence as soon as possible, on a two-year fixed-term basis with contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totalling up to 15% of basic salary, with the possibility of renewal subject to funding availability and satisfactory performance)

 

Applicants should possess a good university degree, preferably a Master’s degree, with at least 10 years’ work and supervisory experience in the higher education sector or a related field, preferably in admissions, student recruitment, or communications.

 

They should be mature, persuasive and personable, with excellent communication skills inclusive of a good command of written and spoken English and Chinese. Applicants should be a good team player, and have strong organizational and interpersonal skills. They should demonstrate outstanding project and people management skills, with the ability to work independently and proactively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.

 

Reporting to the Head of Student Engagement, the appointee will be in charge of the overall planning, management and execution of strategy in the area of undergraduate admissions operations and outreach to meet the institutional goals. He/She will be responsible for formulating admissions strategy related to prospective students, application review and processing, interview arrangement and related research, analysis and assessment. As an ambassador for HKUMed, he/she may be tasked to represent the Faculty at various student recruitment events and presentations, provide holistic support and admissions counselling services, and proactively engage with current and prospective students. Previous experience in tertiary education admissions and track record in leading change management initiatives will be an advantage.

 

The appointee will need to maintain flexibility to perform other job-related duties and projects as assigned in support of the Faculty's mission, core values and goals. Shortlisted candidates will be invited to attend an interview and/or written test.
