Senior Manager/Manager (at the rank of Administrative Assistant II/Executive Officer) in the HKU Techno-Entrepreneurship Core (Ref.: 534084) (to commence as soon as possible, on a two-year fixed-term basis, with contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totalling up to 10% of basic salary, with the possibility of renewal subject to funding availability and satisfactory performance)

Applicants should possess:

  1. A Bachelor’s degree or above, preferably in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) or related disciplines; a higher degree will be an advantage.
  2. At least 8 years of professional experience in one or more of the following areas: start-up business, technology commercialisation, innovation management, or start-up incubation programmes.
  3. Experience in event management, community building, and/or public communications will be an advantage.
  4. An excellent command of spoken and written English and Chinese (including Putonghua).
  5. Exceptional interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  6. The ability to work independently with initiative.
  7. Sound judgment and the capacity for independent decision-making.
  8. A strong interest in entrepreneurship, technology development, and market trends in Hong Kong and worldwide.

The appointee will primarily work for HKU Techno-Entrepreneurship Core, the University’s innovation & entrepreneurship resource centre (www.tec.hku.hk) to support its existing entrepreneurship programmes as well as new initiatives.

He/She will be responsible for:

  • Developing and implementing entrepreneurship incubation programmes and new initiatives to foster entrepreneurship culture on campus.
  • Strengthen support for start-ups in areas such as marketing, competitions, exhibitions, and fundraising.
  • Cultivating and maintaining relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including faculty members, students, graduates, and start-ups.
  • Assisting with event management, public relations, and marketing, including resource allocation, logistics coordination, and deliverables management.
  • Participating in ad-hoc projects and performing other duties as assigned by the Director or his/her delegates.

The appointee may be required to work outside normal office hours and/or travel occasionally. Shortlisted candidates will be invited to attend a written test and an interview. Applicants with lower qualifications and/or less experience may be considered for appointment as Manager.

A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, in addition to annual leave and medical benefits.
