Applications are invited for appointment as Tenure-Track Professor/Associate Professor (several posts) in the Department of Orthopaedics and Traumatology, School of Clinical Medicine (Ref.: 534072), to commence as soon as possible, on a three-year fixed-term basis, with the possibility of renewal and with consideration for tenure before the expiry of a second three-year fixed-term contract, subject to satisfactory performance and funding availability.  Exceptionally outstanding candidates may be considered for appointment on tenure terms, subject to University’s approval. 

Applicants should possess a Ph.D. degree in Medicine, Surgery, Biomedical Engineering, Health Science, or a related discipline, with proven experience in clinical research and research project management.  They should have (i) a strong record of high-quality research as indicated by impactful publications and external grants, (ii) evidence of international recognition, (iii) cross-disciplinary collaborative ties locally and internationally, and (iv) an outstanding record of teaching, mentoring and supervising research postgraduate students.    

The appointees are expected to participate in the planning and delivery of undergraduate and postgraduate programmes, supervise research staff and research postgraduate students, conduct high-quality scholarly research, and contribute to services/administration at the Department and Faculty levels.

A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, in addition to annual leave and medical benefits.  At current rates, salaries tax does not exceed 15% of gross income.  The appointment will attract a contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totalling up to 15% of basic salary.  Housing benefits will be provided as applicable.
