Applications are invited for appointment as Non-Tenure Track Clinical Professor of Practice in the School of Public Health (Ref.: 534063), to commence as soon as possible, on a three- or four-year fixed-term basis, with the possibility of renewal subject to funding availability and satisfactory performance.
Qualifications & Experience
Applicants must hold specialist registration with the Hong Kong Medical Council (or be eligible for specialist registration via the Hong Kong Academy of Medicine). Candidates should have:
- A nationally or internationally recognized record of excellence in public health, epidemiology, or community medicine;
- Demonstrated leadership in clinical research, policy advisory, or large-scale public health initiatives;
- A strong commitment to teaching, curriculum development, and mentorship in medical and public health education;
- Experience in interdisciplinary collaboration and strategic program development in academic or healthcare settings.
Preference will be given to candidates with:
- A proven track record in public health practice, including advisory roles in government or professional bodies;
- Experience in leading large-scale research projects (e.g., epidemiological studies, clinical trials, or community-based interventions);
- Administrative leadership in academic institutions, healthcare organizations, or professional colleges.
Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will:
- Contribute to teaching and curriculum development in undergraduate (MBBS) and postgraduate (MPH) programmes;
- Lead or support high-impact research in public health, infectious diseases, or preventive medicine;
- Engage in knowledge exchange, policy advisory roles, and national/international collaborations;
- Play a strategic role in departmental or faculty-wide initiatives, including accreditation, interdisciplinary research, and public health training programmes.
A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, in addition to annual leave and medical benefits. At current rates, salaries tax does not exceed 15% of gross income. The appointment will attract a contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totalling up to 15% of basic salary. A monthly cash allowance will be offered to the successful candidate. Housing benefits will also be provided as applicable.
