Research Assistant I (Project Coordinator) in the Teaching and Learning Innovation Centre (TALIC) (Ref.: 534012) (to commence as soon as possible, for one year, with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance)

The appointee will assist in coordinating a cross-institutional collaborative teaching and learning project (the “Project”), which aims at promoting use of GenAI tools in enhancing teaching and learning in student partnership projects in Hong Kong higher education, developing supporting resources, and conducting research on teaching effectiveness, organising relevant events. While the appointee should report to the Project Investigator at TALIC, HKU, he/she will also work closely with students and colleagues from the collaborating institutions.

Research Assistant I (Project Coordinator) is expected to:

  • Be responsible for the organisation, preparation, promotion, and execution of online/onsite/hybrid events, such as roadshow, festivals, visits, competitions, symposia, seminars, and workshops, under the Project.
  • Provide support to other parties to facilitate the successful attainment of the Project outcomes.
  • Coordinate and conduct research activities, such as literature review, data collection and analysis, and report writing.
  • Draft manuscripts, reports, presentation decks.
  • Develop resources and materials in written and/or visual forms.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Applicants should possess:

  • A Bachelor's degree or above in Education, Social Sciences or a related discipline, with experience in conducting research projects in higher education contexts.
  • Experience of event promotion and organisation, as well as project maintenance.
  • Experience of the collection and analysis of quantitative and qualitative data.
  • An excellent command of spoken and written English and Chinese (Cantonese and Putonghua).
  • Positive attitude in problem-solving, ability to meet deadlines and good attention to detail.
  • Effective interpersonal, communication and organisational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team.
  • A high level of computer literacy, particularly in using MS Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint).
  • Experience of using content management systems (Wordpress) and video makers (Powtoon) would be an advantage.
