Research Nurse (at the rank of Nurse) in the Clinical Trials Centre (Ref.: 533999)

The Clinical Trials Centre (HKU-CTC) is a leading clinical trials management platform established under The University of Hong Kong LKS Faculty of Medicine (HKUMed) and is dedicated to managing and facilitating international-standard clinical trials on new drugs, medical devices and medical technologies.  HKU-CTC offers long-term development opportunities to passionate talents who are devoted to a career in the clinical trial profession.

HKU-CTC’s Phase 1 Clinical Trials Centre (Phase 1 Centre) is a professional clinical trials facility located at the Queen Mary Hospital and dedicated to conducting phase 1 and early phase clinical trials.  We are seeking a high calibre talent who have the passion in promoting healthcare advancement through practising clinical research to join our Phase 1 Centre as a Research Nurse.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Undertake clinical trial coordination and operations responsibilities;
  • Conduct study planning and management;
  • Recruit and screen trial volunteers;
  • Perform study procedures, data collection and documents management, medical emergency management, facilities management and quality management;
  • Communicate with research teams and internal/external collaborators; and
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Working outside normal business days or hours may be required occasionally.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Nursing;
  • Registered with the Nursing Council of Hong Kong;
  • A minimum of 1 year’s nursing experience is preferred;
  • Holder of a Basic Life Support (BLS) / Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certificate and a venipuncture certificate is an advantage;
  • Experience in clinical trial operations and basic knowledge in Good Clinical Practice are added advantages;
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills;
  • Good coordination and problem-solving skills, and commitment to quality and compliance;
  • Detail-minded, able to handle multiple concurrent tasks, and self-motivated; and
  • Good command of written and spoken English and Chinese.

The appointment will commence as soon as possible on a 2-year fixed-term basis, with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance.  A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, together with contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme at 10% of basic salary.  Other benefits include annual leave and medical benefits.
