We now invite applications for appointment as Lecturer/Assistant Lecturer in Gifted Education/Special Education and Psychology in the Faculty of Education.

Duties and Responsibilities

The appointee will teach courses offered in undergraduate and postgraduate programmes related to gifted education/special education and psychology, well-being for diverse learners, enrichment strategies for learners in mixed-ability classrooms, AI in gifted education, and social-emotional learning of gifted and twice-exceptional learners.  He/She will also be expected to supervise postgraduate students, conduct school practicum supervision, contribute actively to knowledge exchange activities related to strengthening gifted education/special education practices locally and internationally, and assume service/administrative responsibilities as appropriate.

Essential Requirements

Applicants should possess a Master’s degree or above in Education, Guidance and Counselling, Gifted Education, Educational Psychology, or a related field, and at least 5 years’ teaching experience in schools or tertiary institutions.  Teaching/professional qualification in the relevant fields is necessary.  Direct experience of teaching gifted students, experience in guidance and counselling, commitment to pre-service teacher preparation, and/or knowledge of the local context would be strong advantages.  Applicants with lesser teaching experience may be considered for appointment as Assistant Lecturer.

What We Offer

The appointment will be made on fixed-term full-time contract for 3 years, to commence on August 1, 2026 or as soon as possible thereafter, with the possibility of renewal.

A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, together with contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme at 15% of basic salary for Lecturer and 10% of basic salary for Assistant Lecturer. Other benefits include annual leave and professional leave, medical benefits, and free access to on-campus gyms and libraries.
