IT Officer (holding the functional title of System Analyst) in the Faculty of Business and Economics (Ref.: 533651) (to commence as soon as possible, on a two-year fixed-term basis, with contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totalling up to 10% of basic salary, with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance)

Qualifications and Qualities:

  • a good bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or other related disciplines;
  • a minimum of 5 years’ solid programming and system development experience, preferably with knowledge of Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC);
  • strong knowledge of web technologies including PHP, HTML5, CSS, and JavaScript;
  • experience with PHP frameworks and Linux web server setup;
  • sound knowledge with AI technologies such as machine learning, natural language processing, or computer vision;
  • good command of written and spoken English and Chinese;
  • friendly interpersonal skills, self-motivation, a strong sense of responsibility, and ability to work as a good team member; and
  • capable of multi-tasking and delivering satisfactory results within timeframe.

Key Responsibilities include but not limited to:

  • developing and maintaining in-house web applications and websites, ensuring robust, scalable, and secure solutions;
  • designing, developing, and deploying AI-powered features and applications to enhance business processes and user experience;
  • collaborating with stakeholders to identify opportunities for AI-driven improvements in workflows and services;
  • collecting requirements, support user acceptance testing (UAT), and provide training for both traditional and AI-enabled systems;
  • monitoring and optimizing the performance of AI models and web applications, ensuring reliability and efficiency;
  • ensuringe all solutions comply with ethical standards, data privacy regulations, and University policies, especially regarding AI deployment;
  • stayupdated on emerging trends in AI, web technologies, and software development, and proactively recommend innovative solutions; and
  • performing other duties as assigned, including documentation and support for AI and non-AI systems.

A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, in addition to annual leave and medical benefits.
