Applications are invited for appointment as Senior Lecturer in the Division of Landscape Architecture in the Department of Architecture (Ref. 533556), to commence as soon as possible, on a two-year or three-year fixed-term basis.

The Division is particularly interested in candidates who are established or emerging leaders with applied expertise in heritage conservation policy, cultural landscape management, and/or area conservation planning.  Applicants should possess a Ph.D. in heritage conservation policy or urban conservation planning from a leading university and with at least six years’ teaching experience in tertiary institutions.  Applicants should have expertise in local and international heritage conservation policy and practice, and working relations with leading international heritage institutions and organisations.  They should show evidence of leading co-curricular activities and delivering knowledge exchange within local and international communities.  They should also have experience in curriculum development and program leadership.  They should demonstrate a strong and cross-disciplinary teaching practice.  Preference will be given to applicants with relevant experience in teaching and curriculum development at the university level.

The successful appointee will contribute to and sustain our leadership in areas of architectural, urban and landscape conservation.  The appointee will be expected to plan an active role in international outreach and promotion.  The appointee will be responsible for teaching seminars, electives, or studio courses within the Division’s Master of Science in Conservation program, as well as contributing to the overall strategic planning and curriculum development of the unit.

 

A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered.  The appointment will attract a contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totaling up to 15% of basic salary, as well as annual leave and medical benefits.  Housing benefits will be provided as applicable.
