Research Assistant I/II (several posts) in Antibody/Protein Development (Ref.: 533088)

We now invite applications for the captioned posts which focus on antibody and protein production and characterization, in the Department of Medicine, School of Clinical Medicine and the State Key Laboratory of Pharmaceutical Biotechnology

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Develop and validate innovative technologies for research, diagnostic or therapeutic applications, including antigens, antibodies and immune assays
  • Assist in diverse molecular biology experiments, including PCR, Western blotting, cell culture, and DNA extraction.
  • Perform other duties as assigned
  • 5.5 workday per week is required

Requirements

  • A Bachelor’s degree or above in Biology, Molecular Biology, Biomedical Engineering, Biochemistry or a related discipline; preferably with experience in antibody screening and protein engineering
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, high motivation, and the ability to work under tight schedules
  • Experience in animal experiments is an advantage

What We Offer

The appointment will commence as soon as possible on a 1-year temporary basis or 2-year fixed-term basis, with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance and funding availability.

A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered. The appointment on fixed terms will attract a contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme at 10% of basic salary. Other benefits include annual leave, medical benefits and free access to on-campus gyms and libraries.
