Research Assistant II in the Department of Psychology (Ref.: 532781)

 

The appointee will support a variety of research studies, and specifically on a research programme focusing on developing interventions for young people with disordered eating. This role offers hands-on experience in clinical psychology research, with opportunities to collaborate with clinical psychology trainees and student interns.

 

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Conduct systematic reviews and prepare research materials;
  • Collect, manage, and analyse qualitative and quantitative data;
  • Support projects relating to eating disorders and psychological trauma;
  • Assist clinical psychology trainees and student interns;
  • Manage social media accounts and develop web-based interventions, and
  • Perform other duties as assigned 

 

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Psychology or a related discipline;
  • A strong interest in research in clinical psychology, especially in the area of eating disorders;
  • Excellent command of both written and spoken English and Chinese;
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office;
  • Strong organisational, analytical, and problem-solving skills;
  • The ability to prioritise tasks and work effectively under pressure;
  • Strong sense of responsibility, initiative, and excellent interpersonal skills;
  • Flexibility to work independently and within a team;
  • Willingness to attend occasional evening meetings and work on Saturdays during data collection; and
  • Familiar with SPSS and R Studio (preferred) 
  • Knowledge of web development and management (preferred)

The appointee would be exposed to ample learning opportunities in clinical psychology and research. The appointment will commence on September 15, 2025 for 6 months with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance and funding availability. A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered.
