Project Executive (at the rank of Clerk II) in the HKU Techno-Entrepreneurship Core (Ref.: 532560) (to commence as soon as possible, on a two-year fixed-term basis, with contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totalling up to 10% of basic salary, with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance)

Applicants should possess: 

  • A good Bachelor’s degree or equivalent, preferably in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) or other related disciplines, with higher degree a plus;
  • At least one year work experience in at least one of these areas: startup business, technology commercialisation, innovation management and/or startup incubation programme;
  • Experience in funding programme management, event coordination, online marketing & public communications in both Hong Kong and Chinese mainland;  
  • An excellent command of spoken and written English and Chinese (including Putonghua), with exceptional organsiational and communication skills;
  • Good interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills in a cross-cultural context;
  • Ability to work independently with initiative, exercise independent judgement and problem-solving skills;
  • A strong interest in the latest scene of entrepreneurship, technology development and markets in Hong Kong, Greater Bay Area and worldwide.

The appointee will join the HKU Techno-Entrepreneurship Core, the University’s innovation & entrepreneurship resource centre (www.tec.hku.hk), to support its existing entrepreneurship programmes as well as new initiatives. He/She will be coordinating the government grant and/or startup support programmes, including programme promotion, reference checking, vetting, admission process and programme orientation; maintain good connection and partnership with faculty members, students, graduates, start-ups and stakeholders, etc.; assist in event management, PR and marketing, control of resources, logistic arrangement, and deliverables; and perform other duties as assigned. The appointee may be required to work outside normal office hours and/or travel frequently. Shortlisted candidates will be invited to attend a written test and an interview.

A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, in addition to annual leave and medical benefits.
