Applications are invited for appointment as Senior Research Assistant/Research Assistant I/II in the Sau Po Centre on Ageing within the Faculty of Social Sciences (Ref.:532497) to commence as soon as possible, on a one-year temporary basis, with the possibility of renewal subject to funding availability and satisfactory performance.

 

The Sau Po Centre on Ageing at HKU is dedicated to advancing research in the field of ageing and caregiving. Our mission is to improve the quality of life for older adults through innovative research and community engagement.

 

Applicants for Senior Research Assistant should possess a Master's degree or above in Social Science, Psychology, Public Health or other related disciplines with at least 3 years of post-qualification experience. Previous work experience in big data analysis, managing large databases of multiple research projects relating to family caregivers of older adults and/or geron-technology and AI, and with related track records of academic publication should be advantageous.  They should have a good command of written and spoken Chinese (Cantonese) and English, advanced knowledge and experience with statistical software (e.g., SPSS, R, Stata) and MS Office applications (including Word, Excel, PowerPoint etc.), and strong team work and communication skills. 

 

The appointees will work in a multidisciplinary team with collaboration with local and international experts to conduct high-impact and cutting-edge research related to family caregivers of older adults and/or geron-technology and AI, and will be responsible for engaging in managing and executing projects, writing funding proposals, developing publications, and as well as engaging with the community and stakeholders including project partners and collaborators to translate research into practice, and performing other duties as assigned. Publication opportunities and professional development support are available.

 

Applicants with lower qualifications and/or less experience may be considered as Research Assistant I/II.  Shortlisted candidates will be invited to attend a data and written test, and an interview.
