Manager (Communications) (at the rank of Administrative Assistant II) (Ref.: 532482) (to commence as soon as possible on a two-year fixed-term basis, with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance and funding availability)

Qualifications

  • A good Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, or a relevant discipline.
  • At least 6 years of solid working experience in communications or related fields, of which at least 2 years should be at the supervisory level in communications and/or media relations, preferably in higher education or corporate environment.
  • Excellent command of both spoken and written English and Chinese (including Putonghua), with exceptional writing and copy-editing skills.
  • Strategic thinker with innovative and effective organisational skills to initiate and execute plans that deliver quality output on time.
  • Self-motivated, with a strong sense of responsibility, able to work independently with minimal supervision, while also working effectively as part of a team.
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities while remaining attentive to detail in a fast-paced environment. 
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills, project management experience, and problem-solving abilities, along with an appropriate level of IT knowledge, are essential.
  • Advanced proficiency and experience in website management and development would be a distinctive advantage.
  • Knowledge of academia and prior experience managing marketing campaigns through social media platforms in Mainland China would be an added advantage.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement corporate communication strategies to support the Faculty’s promotional and branding initiatives, online communications and digital solutions, both locally and overseas.
  • Handle media inquiries and draft press releases, feature stories and other communications and promotional materials.
  • Oversee and coordinate the Faculty’s digital media campaigns through various digital platforms.
  • Support special projects and campaigns undertaken by the Faculty, which may occasionally require work outside regular office hours.
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

What We Offer

A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, in addition to annual leave and medical benefits.  The appointment will attract a contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totalling up to 10% of the basic salary.
