Applications are invited for appointment as Post-doctoral Fellow in Bioinformatics in the Department of Pathology and State Key Laboratory of Liver Research (Ref: 532474), to commence as soon as possible for three years, with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance.

Applicants should have a Ph.D. in bioinformatics, genetics, computational biology or other relevant disciplines, and in-depth experience with at least one of the following programming languages: R, Perl, Python, C/C++, JAVA, etc. Experience in cancer research and/or molecular biology will be an advantage. Preference will be given to those with expertise in bioinformatics, and computational biology, with strong interests in translational research utilizing next-generation sequencing and single-cell sequencing to study liver cancer. Applicants should also be highly motivated individuals with the ability to work in a team environment and with good oral and written communication skills in English. Candidates who have a strong interest in translational research and appreciate the complexity of biological systems are particularly encouraged to apply. The abilities to work independently, participate in highly collaborative projects, and contribute intellectually to research development are requisites for the position. The appointee will investigate the molecular mechanism of liver cancer using next generation sequencing. Enquiries about the duties of the post should be sent to Professor Irene Ng at iolng@hku.hk.
