Full-time Research Assistant I/II in the Faculty of Education (Ref.: 532469) (to commence as soon as possible for 6 months on a temporary term, with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance)

Applicants should have a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology or related discipline. They should have a good command of written and spoken English and Chinese (Cantonese) and have experience, capability or be confident to learn in the following areas: (1) working with children; (2) conducting interviews and preparing transcription; (3) processing statistics and conducting data analysis (especially NVivo & SPSS); (4) assisting in programming tasks and different experimental techniques and psychophysiological research software (e.g. E-prime, MPlus, R, EEGLAB, MatLLAB, Python, etc.)

The appointees will be responsible for running projects related to educational/clinical psychology on any research and scholarly activities as required, which include:

  1. Communicating with college students who seek psychological services from the clinical practitioners (e.g. educational psychologist, clinical psychologist, etc.) in the research team;
  2. Conducting research work/assessment/interventions for students with special educational or mental health needs (and their parents)
  3. Outreaching to the community to promote mental health;
  4. Literature review;
  5. Liaison with internal and external research collaborator(s) and research participants (s);
  6. Development of research and assessment instruments;
  7. Administration of survey(s), interview(s) and/or any other forms of data collection, data entry and data cleaning;
  8. Conducting data analysis which, depending on the nature of the research, includes quantitative and qualitative analyses;
  9. Preparation and editing of research report(s), manuscript(s) writing, publication(s) and any other forms of deliverables;
  10. Provision of administrative support to scholarly exchange function(s) and event(s); and
  11. Any other duties as assigned by the Principal Investigator and/or his/her delegate(s).

A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, in addition to annual leave and medical benefits.
